here we go again my gym clients and prospects...do NOT employ the same design aesthetics as these brands...it's a TREND #gymdesign
https://twitter.com/cuocoblack1/status/489762394500239360/photo/1 www.fitnesscenterdesign.com In our ongoing argument for branded gym design we continue to identify design faux pas which undermine a gym brand. We have time and again celebrated the David Barton aesthetic as the pinnacle of Boutique Gym Design, the best and brightest. Yet time and again, we find developers who are advised by design firms to embrace the boutique design aesthetic....that would be to the developer's disadvantage. It's obvious that the brand on the right (though beautiful,) is biting the Barton aesthetic. Perhaps the "intention is/was unintended" regardless, unless you're a fitness facility 1%-er avoid the Boutique Design aesthetic at all costs less you want to appear to be a Barton wanna-be. "A gym brand should NEVER be a wanna be....a gym brand should be an ONLY be" Cuoco Black The Read: The Barton target demographic is the luxury sector. The luxury demographic is a savvy consumer possessing a wide range of luxury product experience. Without reservation the luxury consumer will first identify the aesthetics of the gym on the right as Boutique Design, and second, reminiscent of the Barton style....which says nothing about their brand, and that alone should be reason enough to avoid the Boutique Design aesthetic. Cuoco Black is a trusted and respected master fitness facility designer. He is the creator of the “Concept Club” a gym design aesthetic which embraces a belief that fitness center brands should be inspired by the developers own vision void of design trends.
